So here is an easy YouTube Plugin to make YouTube work on Glype 1.1. I didn’t write it, I just put it in a nice little package. It came from the guys over at Glype.com forums. Simply download the package here. Unzip it and upload the contents to your glype 1.1 plugin folder and youtube will work. Thats it!

They have an advertiser #1525 that is hijacking my page views via a redirect. I had a sudden drop in revenue from my other ad networks the past couple weeks. Analytics said I was getting the same ammount of traffic, but revenue went way down. Upon investigating I found that advertiser 1525 from Canep is stealing my traffic. As soon as their ad loads it redirects to yellowpages.com or whitepages.com or others. They are bidding high CPM so they get most of my page views, which means my users are not really getting a chance to use my site, thus the lost revenue.
I have excluded them, so I should not have this problem anymore, but I wanted to tell anyone using ads from canep they may want to exclude advertiser 1525. Its kinda funny, when I logged onto canep.com and tried to look at that advertisers creatives it redirected me away from canep.com. 
I contacted canep about it via phone and email, and I am sure they will take care of it. They have always been good to me, and have always had clean ads and paid on time. I have been using them for over a year and a half, and have no intention of stopping. Just an FYI for others.

I have not been on promoting my proxies too much as I have been working on other SEO projects. I am getting back to my proxies now though, so it should be better moving on. $884.63 I am a slacker I know, but it will get better.
Well its mid August and proxy season is gearing up. Here in Arizona most schools are already back in session. I have been talking to people all over the US to find out when schools start. Some schools in Maryland start back tomorrow. Its just a matter of a few weeks before we are back in full swing! Typically its about mid to end of September when things get going full speed.
With that said I have already started working on things. I have obtained the full rights to a custom theme, so my proxies look different than anyone else’s. Started getting back into the flow of things with newsletters and network sites and the like. Made some new proxies and already have a list of registered domains to last the rest of the year (not live yet, I turn them on 1 by 1 as I need them).
I did some remonetizing of the proxies, and changed things up a bit (will post more on this in the next post). I am even running an experiment with Google Adsense. I typically have not used them on most of my proxies, but changing it up a bit for now. We will see how it goes. Of course I just did some general “spring cleaning” have lots of loose ends from different experiments and the like.
All told just getting ready for whats around the corner, I want to be able to take advantage of the full income potential once things get rolling next month.
I even went as far as to higher someone to promote my proxies for me, or at least some of the promotion. I figure if I can make more money then I spend then I am still ahead. It also frees me up to work on other promotion methods, research and other projects. Read a great article on “The Smart Business Man Outsources”. Have used it successfully in other areas already and thought I should apply it to proxies to.

Honestly I enjoy most of the things I do online, but screen shots are one of those “paperwork” things that I just dread. Its just one of my things, thus I procrastinate and put them off. LOL. None the less they are important, and everyone wants to see proof. So here ya go. Lots of screens from that time frame.
Note: Due to the fact that I use Adversal on sites besides my proxies, I have to provide multiple screen shots for my proxy sites. They don’t let you choose multiple sites to report on, its all or nothing. Since I don’t use the same ad code for one site across all my proxies, it leaves me with having to give you lots of adversal screens. Thus one reason I don’t like taking screens. Anyway, on to the proof….

I did not create this plugin and am by no means taking credit for it. The wonderful guys over at the Glype.com forums wrote it (If your not a member, you should join and participate). What I did do was compile it in a nice little zip file and I wrote installation instructions for it.
Simply download the file. Extract. Open the “ReadMe” file, and follow the directions. Thats it.
It is currently up and working as of today, here is a demo proxy:

I have received a lot of requests asking me what options I use to setup my Canep account. He is a screen shot of the options that I have found that seem to work the best for my proxies (click to enlarge):
I often get the question of how much it will cost to startup a proxy. Here I will give you a rough estimate.
I use WDservers.com and that who I recommend. So I am going to give you the costs based on if you use them. At the time of this writing (April 2008) this is roughly what the costs would be.
Total Cost roughly $66 to startup. I say that becuase I figure that if you ran 2 proxies, and just worked on them that would probably get you buy. As for hosting most companies pay net 30 so you should get a check from the first month, by the end of the second month or shortly thereafter. Now this is what I would call real basic startup.
Ideally I would launch a new proxy every week and would need to upgrade to the VPS 512 by the second month. In which case your costs would look like this:
Domain names - $24 (8 .infos @ 2.99 each from Godaddy)
Hosting - $90 (first month at $30 and second at $60)
Also depending on how fast you grow you might not make enough from the first month to cover the third so you might need a little extra. Also that assumes that you cross the threshold for the minimum payout. So its all somewhat subjective, but likely if you can accelerate fast enough to need to upgrade your hosting for the second month, then you can shortly pay for all your costs from your proxies.
loopline on April 23rd, 2008 | File Under Proxy | No Comments -Over the past year that I have been involved with making money with proxies the question of Google Adsense has often come up. Many times I have seen people, including myself, feeling at the mercy of Google Adsense. I have personally stopped using Google Adsense on most of my proxies. How has that worked out for me? Read on.
Let me be clear. This article is specifically about how to monetize without using Google Adsense for CONTENT. Google still has many great referral products that fall under the “adsense” brand. They do not, however, work off of CPC. More importantly your adsense for content will not get smart priced due to your referral links on your proxies. (at least to my knowledge at this time)
When I first started making money with proxies I used Adsense. It worked well for the first 6 months or so. Then I got smart priced, and my profit went from over $600 one month to around $150 the next. Ouch. Over the next 4 months I worked on alternatives. After much trial, work and reading I have come to realize something. While Google is a large player, they don’t control the market. The market is free and you can make money without ever using Google at all. So here is what I have learned:
Popunders
With that in mind its easy to see that Popunders should be a big focus. If you can get into Adversal then go for it. If not then go for Global Interactive for popunders. Set you popunders to pop 1 to 2 times per MINUTE. Yes 1 to 2 times per MINUTE. If you go with 1 time per hour or something way to high like that, then that you are just giving away your profit. Users know there will be popunders. If you feel that 1 to 2 times per minute is too much, then back off a little, but not more then 1 time every 4 minutes.
Proxified Page Banner Ads
I would reccomend to use the 468X60 banner ads and place 2 -4 of them at the top of your proxified pages. I would use the following companies for banner ads:
Home Page
Since we focused on making 90% of our money on the proxified pages the home page should not take much work. I would place 1-3 CPM banners on the home page. Also if you would like to use some sort of CPC company besides Google go for it. CPA such as Comission Junction or Azoogle have offers that are zip code submit and email submit. These work reasonably well for some extra income. Also some surveys work well, just think what a teen or college student might like. I simply place a text link above the address bar. Additionally Google has many great referral products that you can promote.

So if you still don’t think it will work? Well have a look at this post of mine. Out of $1500 dollars I made with my proxies in Jan 2008, only $206 was from Google. That was when I still used Google on all of my proxy sites. So Google provided 13% of my income. That could be replaced easy enough with some CPM and CPA ads. Plus once Google was off I advertised at places I would not before. Places like proxy.org (because of the previous click bomb attacks). With the extra traffic I got it brought in even more revenue. Thus you can monetize without Google adsense for Content.
loopline on April 17th, 2008 | File Under Proxy | No Comments -Just a quick post. Its been a busy month and a half since the end of Jan. I didn’t work on proxy promotion at all in Feb aside from my newsletters and my myspace page and I made $1300. I was pleased considering my lack of work. I am taking a self pace class in online business and life is just busy, so wasn’t working on them much.
Currently I am redoing all of my proxies with Glype instead of Phpproxy. I am making a few small changes, which I will post about after I work them out. Also I will post my monetization strategy, which includes completely eliminating Google Adsense for Content ads.
Also the excellent folks over at Glype.com forums have built a YouTube plugin for free available. Its in a few pieces on the forum , instructions and all. I have it up and running on my Glype test site and it works great! I am going to package it all up, give appropriate credit, include instructions and then post it up here free to download in a upcoming future post. Hopefully later this week, maybe next. Between class, changing over my proxies to Glype, getting things all customized the way I like them, centralizing my ads in one place, re-monetizing my proxies yet again - lost count of how many times I have done this, working on the platinum proxy guide V2.0, my wife and 7 month old, and my life in general its keeping me busy.
