Proxy season is gearing up!
Well its mid August and proxy season is gearing up. Here in Arizona most schools are already back in session. I have been talking to people all over the US to find out when schools start. Some schools in Maryland start back tomorrow. Its just a matter of a few weeks before we are back in full swing! Typically its about mid to end of September when things get going full speed.
With that said I have already started working on things. I have obtained the full rights to a custom theme, so my proxies look different than anyone else’s. Started getting back into the flow of things with newsletters and network sites and the like. Made some new proxies and already have a list of registered domains to last the rest of the year (not live yet, I turn them on 1 by 1 as I need them).
I did some remonetizing of the proxies, and changed things up a bit (will post more on this in the next post). I am even running an experiment with Google Adsense. I typically have not used them on most of my proxies, but changing it up a bit for now. We will see how it goes. Of course I just did some general “spring cleaning” have lots of loose ends from different experiments and the like.
All told just getting ready for whats around the corner, I want to be able to take advantage of the full income potential once things get rolling next month.
I even went as far as to higher someone to promote my proxies for me, or at least some of the promotion. I figure if I can make more money then I spend then I am still ahead. It also frees me up to work on other promotion methods, research and other projects. Read a great article on “The Smart Business Man Outsources”. Have used it successfully in other areas already and thought I should apply it to proxies to.

I’m curious as to why you burn through so many domain names with your proxies? Do the domains get blocked after a certain amount of use?

Yes, admins at schools and workplaces often times block domains. Some places rarely do, but others aggressively block domains. Sometimes inside of a few days. Typically a week or two though for the aggressive ones and a few months for the others. Some never block. So I find it helpful to make new proxies regularly. Alot of the traffic I get is from new proxies. Then I hit them each week on the newsletter and they tell their friends and promote it for me. Typically around the 1 year mark I will check each proxy. If they are worth keeping then I renew them. If not then I just redirect their traffic to a different site saying that they proxy will expire soon and I give them some of my new proxies to use. Then I let the domain expire and keep moving forward.
