I made $1500 with proxies in Jan. How much did you make?

I made $1500 with proxies in Jan. I was pushing for $2000 but Jan. had a much slower start then I thought. I thought proxies would be back in full swing by the 5th or so and it really didn’t get back to full swing till the 10th or so. Anyway I am happy with $1500. Here is the breakdown:

  • Adversal - 978 - Yes adversal is king.  :)
  • Google - 206
  • Canep - 308
  • Global Interactive (I just added them in the last day or two of the month) - 6
  • Misc -20

Also my wife is a stay at home mom so she has her own proxy network. She made $358. Thats not included in my $1500 but her sites run on server too so I thought I would throw it in. All in all a good month.

So how much did you made in Feb?

Glype proxy 0.5.2 - Facebook now included!

Well a new version of Glype is out and it has some nice advantages.  One major one being that it has a facebook plugin.  Additionally myspace functionality has been optimized.  These are two nice changes.

Also if you purchased the youtube plugin you may want to change the cURL Opt Timeout to extend the time your YouTube videos play.  This used to be in browse.php but has been moved to the control panel for easy access.

Just more great reasons to use glype.  Way to go Nick and thanks for the updates.

Glype Proxy Script - A Definite Yes.

Any who read my book will know that I started out with phpproxy. I know more about phpproxy then any other script, and thus it is the script I recommended in my book. Since I published my book phpproxy has been discontinued. You can still find programmers that write addons for it, but its becoming harder to do so with no new versions coming out.

Now you can read my previous post for earnings in Dec. I am no big player by any means, so for me $1450 in one month is a very nice income. It has taken a lot of work to get there too. Thus I am reluctant to just jump to some other script or anything that could compromise what I have. None the less I realize that if you continue to do the same things you have always done, you will get the same things you have always gotten. Thus if you want to make more money you are always going to have to be changing and growing. After researching the major scripts out there I decided that glype would probably be the best alternative for me to try. So I created a test site for glype. Added a nice theme and played around with things. After a little work Glype was up and running. After a little bit more work I had my ads inserted. I then decided I wanted to see glype go beyond my current script setup, so I purchased a plugin for $5 from someone on DP to make glype work with Youtube. A little more editing and research and youtube started working. So here are my thoughts:

  • Overall glype is very easy to setup. Changing themes is as easy as wordpress, which I like. Adding ad code is easier then wordpress IMO, so pretty easy. Adding plugins is super easy, just upload and your done. My youtube plugin worked out of the box, but only with videos 3 minutes and less. I edited it little bit and now it works upto 10 mins, but I wrote eactly what I did in the post on DP where it is being sold.
  • Funtionally Glype is faster then my heavily modified version of phpproxy. Since my phpproxy has about $200 worth of optimizations and modifications, the fact that glype beat it out of the box is impressive.
  • Another reason Glype attracted me is the fact that it supports myspace out of the box. It cost me $50 for phpproxy to make it work with myspace. Grant it the $50 script still has a few small advantages that glype doesnt support with myspace, but largely its functional. And it didnt cost me a dime. ;)
  • The fact that Nick (glype’s author) is still developing Glype and improving it is also a MAJOR plus.
  • So speed and funtionality that outperform phpproxy out of the box, support for myspace out of the box, plugins availiable to expand it even more, and inexpensively at that, ease of use, and best of all the fact that its FREE make glype a script I would recommend.

If you would like to try out glype, head over to

http://www.glype.com

You can also sign up for his newsletter to receive updates and if you would like to show your appreciation you can purchase a license for glype (the license even lets you remove the link at the bottom of the page)

I am not totally giving up on phpproxy as I have so much invested in it, but certainly if I was just starting up I would use glype. For now I am going to use both.

Internet Live Proxies - A nice free traffic bump

Well at the get go of this blog I said I wouldn’t talk about advertising, but this one is already in the ebook and on DP. It is so good I just wanted to share it with everyone. Jiosis at DP runs a site called Internet Live Proxies. He lets up submit our proxies for free with no back link required. I have submitted my sites for some time and I have received a nice bump in traffic. You won’t make you millions by submitting your proxy to his site, but his does rank well for good proxy search terms. You can submit your site here:

http://www.liveproxies.com/add-your-site/

You can view his post and website stats here:

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=307132

Also if you want to be nice you can post a thank you in the above post.

My thanks go out to Jiosis for always letting me post up my many proxies and for giving me free traffic without a backlink.

*Please note that this is for traffic gaining purposes only not SEO link development.

I am pushing hard to try and make $2000 this month, we will see if I can do it.  Its looking bleek right now as school break didn’t really end for some people till like the 7th so I lost some good days.  But we just keep moving forward.

So how much did you make from your proxies in Dec?

Monetize with Canep Media

Canep Media has been a great addition to my monetization for my proxies.  Canep pays via CPM and has 6 different types of ad spots.  They have a banner, leaderboard, medium rectangle, skyscraper, wide sky scraper and popunders.   I have tried out  4 out of the 6 methods personally, and here is my thoughts on each.  First though let me say I get about 90-95% US.  Canep pays well with US traffic, but rates are basically non existent with Iran/China traffic and the like.  So if you have mostly US traffic you will do well with Canep.  If you have mostly Iran/China Traffic then you will do poorly with Canep.  Please note these rates are in no way, shape or form  guaranteed or even implied that you will get these rates.  These rates are simply the rates I experienced, your rates may vary.

Banner:  paid well, about $.10 - $.13 CPM
Leaderboard: paid better, about $.20 - $.24 CPM
Medium Rectangle paid well, $.24 - $.28 CPM
Pop Unders:  Paid very well, but with a catch $.38 - $.42 CPM

The catch with the popunders is that most popup blockers including the built in ones in FireFox will block their popunders every time.  I contacted them about it and they do it on purpose.  Their goal is for customer satisfaction.  They figure if someone has installed a popup blocker that they don’t want popups.  Therefor Canep does not try to force popunders on them.  That is actually a good busines practice, and I respect them for it.  However it does not put money in either your pocket or mine.  To that end I would not reccommend that you use Canep’s popunders unless you don’t have anyone else’s popunders to use.   They use them as some money is better then none, I did make a small amount from them, but it was not a lot.

I would definitely recommend using Canep’s banners.  I use the leaderboard at the top of my proxified pages.  I get about 250,000 proxified page views per day so I make a few hundred per month from Canep.  If you have more or less impressions you will make more or less respectively.  However if you have ad spot that is not being used any income is better then nothing.   So if you have unfilled ad space try Canep.  Any comments, anyone had any other experiences with Canep or others?

Adversal

Well I have received many comments that Adversal rejected their application.  I regret that those who this happened to are not able to get into adversal as it is truly a great company.  If you have an adversal account your among the few privileged ones.  If you don’t have one and can’t get one then I have some alternatives for you.  I will post shortly on other monetization methods.  I don’t mean to say that these methods will replace adversal as I use some of them with adversal.  Simply that there are several options out there and regardless of whether or not company accepts you, you should still you others.

PPG Supplement blog is officially born

Well I have been saying for a little over a month now that I was going to make a supplement to the Platinum Proxy Guide. Well I was going to make another PDF and only send it to the people who bought the book. Instead I decided to make a blog and let everyone join in. This will more efficiently accomplish several things.

  1. It will let me write about things as I learn them, rather then saving them all up and trying to do it in one pdf. For me that will let me go more into depth as I like to do things in small segments rather then huge ones.
  2. It will allow all of you to leave comments and thus we can all learn from each other.
  3. It will provide a free resource to even those who did not buy the Platinum Proxy Guide.
  4. I like to write and it will give me a chance to do so. This will probably be the first of multiple blogs on making money online.

This blog will focus particularly on how to make money with proxies. I will be upfront in saying I do not intend to release my book for free here. I do not intend to release the content of my book here. I do not intend to release certain elements of the book that are the “bread and butter” persay. Things like advertising your proxy. I will save any new methods of such for a future update of the ebook. However this blog will cover monetization methods, new scripts, script modifications, domain setup, hosting etc… pretty much anything but the really key stuff, you will have to buy the book for that.

So thus it is born.
